Marketing Summary
Marketing Activities
For our marketing activities, we used a flyer to generate interest about our online curriculum. We
asked permission to post a flyer on the bulletin boards in The Clarke building on BYUI campus. We
each posted a digital copy of our flyer on Instagram and Facebook. We created an Instagram page for
our curriculum to generate more interest. We also encouraged our friends and families to share the
posts to reach more people.
Title
The title for our curriculum is ‘Communication and Conflict Resolution in Intimate Relationships’.It is geared towards individuals and couples who would like to learn better communication and conflict
resolution strategies. We have used information from peer reviewed articles and experts in the fields of
family relations and communication to design a curriculum that we hope can be helpful to many.
Marketing Material
We created a fun and colorful flyer that describes our curriculum and put the link to our website atthe bottom for their reference. We placed a copy of the flyer in the appendix. We also each created
social media announcements informing people of our curriculum and inviting them to participate.
Challenges/Obstacles
The major challenges we have run into are getting people to participate. We have had several peoplego to our blog and check it out but have not received any comments or participation yet. To address
this challenge, we are reaching out on social media and asking people to please comment on our
website so that we know they are participating.
Lessons Learned
We have learned that marketing is the most difficult part of starting a new curriculum. You have togenerate interest and know how to share it and with who. It is hard to get people to share it for you or
have people want to get involved. People are busy and don’t know that they need or want your
curriculum until they fully invest themselves in participating in it.
